The Work

Exterior painting on a new two-storey home at Heathwood, taken from bare render and sheeting through to a finished facade. The render was left to cure and then washed down, with joins and patched areas checked and made good before a masonry sealer was rolled across the whole envelope so the topcoats would draw evenly over old and new work. Walls were finished in two coats of an exterior membrane in a soft off-white, worked wet edge to wet edge across each elevation to avoid banding on the large flat wall planes. Fascia, gutters, downpipes, the window surrounds and the entry door were finished in charcoal to match the roof, cut in by hand against the render so every line sits sharp. Wall lights, meter boxes and downpipe brackets were masked individually and cut around rather than painted over. Windows, glazing and the new driveway were protected throughout, and the site was cleared of masking and debris on completion.
